This old barn is part of a western ghost town. It was built not long after the area was settled in 1859. It is said to be the most photographed Ghost Town in the west, it has been featured in a number of western movies including, “Old Arizona” which was the first talkie movie shot outdoors, and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”. The area was first settled by Nathan Tenney and the initial settlement was called Wheeler, however, a large flood in 1862 destroyed all the settlement, so they moved a mile away to higher ground and started all over again, this was the pioneer spirit.
